WorldStrides: Accreditation
As an accredited school with NAAS, we are similar to other public and private schools in America in regards to our curriculum, instruction and assessment. Our D4C program is rigorous, relevant and equal to a typical course offered in most schools in the U.S. The only difference is our program instructs and teaches our curriculum in a unique way - through a travel program. Students work independently and at their own pace to complete the online portion of the course.
"Accreditation demonstrates the educational integrity of an organization."
David G. Steadman, Ed.D., Executive Director of the Northwest Association of Accredited Schools.
What Does Accreditation Mean to You?
Accreditation recognizes educational institutions for performance, integrity, and quality that entitle them to the confidence of the educational community and the public. WorldStrides was accredited by the Northwest Association of Accredited Schools using high standards similar to those used to accredit a school before it opens.
Our programs are based on national curriculum standards and promote critical thinking. Certified course leaders challenge students to assess and apply what they are learning through first-hand experience so they take away the most from the program.

What Does Accreditation Mean to Students?
WorldStrides exclusively offers the on-line Discovery for Credit Program, earning successful program participants high school credit. The program is an expansion of classroom learning and the experiential learning gained while at the trip sites. Most of WorldStrides' traveling students are eligible to take advantage of this unique opportunity.
As an accredited school, other public and private schools can accept our credit through reciprocity agreements with other accrediting agencies. In any region, however, there are policies that are created by the school district/school that may limit or prohibit credit acceptance. It is important that students, parents and teachers reach out to their school offices to clarify policy regarding the acceptance of credit. We will work to help clarify policies, provide documentation, and connect with NAAS officials who can speak on our behalf. It is important to note that WS, BGA, or Heritage Festivals does not guarantee the acceptance of any credits.
